International New Venture (INV): This study abroad program consists of two components, a Boston-based component that is more conceptual in nature, and an international-based component that is more experiential in nature. Students will learn what it takes to start a new venture that has the potential to be successful in the United States and how they could grow these ventures by expanding them into foreign markets. Students will gain hands on experience when they work on cross-cultural teams to address issues of strategic importance to a new venture in their host country.

History
The Center for Entrepreneurship Education was created with the vision and financial support of alumnus Alan McKim, the founder, Chairman, and CEO of Clean Harbors, a leader in environmental services. Alan will tell you that his education at Northeastern was instrumental in his work to transform his small business of the early 1990s into the multi-billion dollar industry leader that it is today. He asked Professors Dan McCarthy and Marc Meyer to create a plan to help young entrepreneurs and alumni to innovate new products and services, and then start new companies. Alan wanted us to leverage experiential entrepreneurship education across the entire university as well as to its legions of alums. His vision for the center was not just to help create new companies, but to foster innovative, entrepreneurial thinking amongst all of our students so that they can help grow existing companies, whether here or abroad.
